TEHRAN -- The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Jabir al-Ahmad al-Jabir as-Sabah on Monday night called Iran-Kuwait relations "excellent".

Shiekh Jabir as-Sabah, attending a ceremony at Iran's Embassy in Kuwait City on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, added that exchange of numerous visits between high-ranking Kuwaiti and Iranian delegations is a good sign of strong and still developing ties between the two Islamic countries.

Expressing delight for his presence at the ceremony on the occasion of the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Kuwait's foreign minister congratulated the Iranian government and nation on the blessed occasion.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Kuwaiti Majlis al-Umma (national assembly) Jasem al-Kharafi, addressing the ceremony, stressed that Kuwait has full confidence in Iran's positive efforts to establish and safeguard the region's stability and security, an IRNA report said.

"The region is in a difficult situation," he said, underlining that the preservation of peace and stability in the region that takes into account the interests of all regional states desperately needs the help of providence and the wisdom of Iranian officials.
